Triquetra
The Triquetra / Trinity Knot
The Trinity Knot is formed by a triquetra knotworked with a circle.
The triquetra (from Latin "three corners") is present in the paganism of Celtic and Germanic populations.
The disc which intertwines it can thus be qualified as solar.
This pattern has been Christianized to facilitate the appropriation of the concept of the Trinity, like the famous clover or shamrock of Saint Patrick.
It is now found in the modern paganist movement.
